- Grace and Nick: they are waiting for acceptance letters from the universities they applied to but when Nick gets one and Grace doesn't she starts worrying. But after a very long day she finds her acceptance letter when she arrives home and she cuddles on the couch with her mom, talking about the future and how Grace will go to the same college her mother did.

LESSON: always have faith that things will be good

- Martha: she wants to do a portrait to put on City Hall but she can´t get on the same page with the artists so she goes to see Cassie for advice. Cassie tells her that "sometimes in order to get what we want, it is better to say less, not more". She follows Cassie advice and says nothing the next time she sees the artists and the woman just goes away and comes back later with a fabulous portrait that Martha loves.

LESSON: sometimes is better to don't say anything

- Grey House Guests: a couple of friends are in Middleton to disconnect and catch up but when one of them is getting married, Paige, and very busy with the plans; and the other Josie, just broke up with her boyfriend months ago they feel disconnected. Cassie tries to get them to somewhere far away with no internet connection but as soon as they are back in town Paige keeps glue to the phone talking with her boyfriend. Tired of Paige being on the phone all the time, Josie goes to drink something with other people which makes Paige angry. But Josie tells her that she is tired of her being on the phone all the time and not being really with her. At first Josie wants to leave early but finding some walkie talkies reminds her and Paige when they were little and they talk and end up being ok again. Paige promises to be less on the phone and Josie to support her relationship with her boyfriend more.

LESSON: be patience and supportive with your friends and enjoy time with them

- Sam, his resident and Adam: Sam has this young resident that is very good at diagnosing but very bad with caring about patients. When Adam tells Sam that his resident didn't treat a patient very well, Sam decides to teach the young doctor how to have some compassion with patients. At the beginning the student is not very fond of it, not liking the interaction with the patients but at the end he understands that it is part of being a doctor and he thanks Sam for caring to teach them not only what it is in the books.

LESSON: compassion is needed in life

- George and Nick: George has this old truck from when he was young and when Nick sees it he falls in love with it. George agrees that if Nick helps him fix it, it can be his. Nick is very excited and agrees so they spent some "grandfather-grandson" time fixing the truck.

LESSON: enjoy time with your family

- Stephanie and Vincent: they are starting to date but also starting a business together, a food truck.

LESSON: sometimes you can mix love and business

- Grace and Luck: now that Martha is back to office, she tells them that only one of them can stay doing the internship and sends them to do a paper so she can decide which one can stay. But instead of competing, Grace and Luke work together giving Martha just one paper. They are surprised to find out that she was expecting them to team up and had planned to keep them both since the beginning but wanted them to do some team work first.

LESSON: is better to work together than against each other

- Abigail and Donovan: when Donovan asks Abigail out on a date she gets really nervous, she hasn't felt this way about a guy, ever and this just makes her more nervous. But Cassie tells her to relax and just be herself. At the end, she ends up having a great time and sees there is nothing bad with letting her guard down sometimes.

LESSON: never be afraid to show who you really are

As you can see, all are examples of real life situations.
