Sam and Cassie: When Sam comes into the kitchen with a gift from a patient Cassie promises to take good care of it. Sam smiles and kisses her thanking him and saying he has to go back to work. Sam is looking for a secret ingredient for his chilli and Cassie helps him, telling him to ask Martha for it. But first Sam needs to find out what Martha wants in exchange for the ingredient which leaves Sam in a very fun exchange of things with some of the citizens of Middleton. The last person he goes to is Abigail who asks him for the gift his patient gave him telling him that Donovan would love it, so Sam accepts. But at the end, Cassie takes the gift back and gives it back to Sam whale he smiles thanking him and they decide to go to the kitchen to taste some chilli. - Joy: she is having a hard time because it's the anniversary of her mom passing away, so Cassie helps her plant a tree in her honor and in the meantime they discover an old box Cassie and Grace buried and that brings Joy closer to some Merriwick history. At the end Cassie discovers that Joy´s mother was her cousin and that Joy is a Merricik too! LESSONS: you can always find family if you really want to - The Chilli Cook-off: Middleton is hosting the Chilli-cook-off and everyone is determined to win. But at the end everyone ends up helping each other and George, who has wanted to win for years, finally gets an award for his hard work cooking with the help of Joy. LESSONS: the important thing is to have fun and share with others - Stephanie and her friend ́s daughter: a good friend of Stephanie has to travel and her daughter is sad because she will miss the Cook-off so Stephanie offers her mother to take care of her so she can stay. While the young kid helps Stephanie with the cooking, Stephanie realizes that she is sad because her best friend has another best friend and doesn't talk to her anymore. The kid doesn't know why her friend doesn't want to be with her anymore and thinks that she has done something wrong. At first, Stephanie doesn´t know what to do or say but after talking to Cassie and remembering that she faced something similar when she was a kid she tells the young girl to be patient with her friend, that sometimes friendship needs some time but that her friend will realize how much she misses her. At the end, the other girl comes to Stephanie´s friend's daughter telling her that she is sorry and they hug. LESSONS: sometimes friendship needs a little time, but you always find a way back - Martha and Tom: when Martha became mayor she promised Tom that she will end some things he started but hasn't quite done everything she said she would. Tom wants to keep the promise he made to the town so runs for mayor again against her wife. But at the end Martha tells Tom that he is right and that she will finish what she promises, so he retires from the mayor campaign. LESSONS: always keep your promises - Abigail and her father: after Abigail forgetting him for leaving her and they starting over again, this time her father is visiting her to introduce her to his partner. But ABigail accidentally tells the woman some things that her father did not tell her, like that he was in jail. This makes the woman very angry because he hasn't been honest with her. At the end. Arthur apologizes to her and she forgives him telling him that she just wants him to be honest with her. LESSONS: always be honest with your loved ones - Abigail and Donovan: when Abigail sees that her father has lied to his partner she gets scared about Donovan doing the same, but he reminds her that he is not her father and that she would have to trust him. LESSONS: always trust your partner and don´t let yourself be influenced by your family/past in your relationships
