The Storm

Sam and Cassie: The first scene is of course a sweet banter when they talk about the weather and some medicine. Cassie tells Sam that a storm is coming and that they should be prepared since the cold affects the body, but Sam jokes about her sensing something and tells her the news have said no.

Later Sam goes to Grey House to talk to Cassie (he has seen what a great listener she is and likes her advice but he doesn't want to admit it. He wants to talk with her but he has never talked so much with anyone and felt so connected with anyone before). Cassie messes with him telling him that Linda isn´t coming and he freaks out wondering how she knows... later she tells him she had a room booked and she cancelled. He is worried because Nick's mom isn't coming to town and that Nick will blame him but the reality is that his mother cares more about work.

When Eve gets bad Sam checks on her but finds nothing telling Cassie she is off this time. But Cassie knows something isn't good. They banter again and then Sam leaves. Later Bryan gets worse and Cassie and Sam have to work together to keep him alive until an ambulance can come to Grey House and pick him up. Sam says he can't do anything in Grey House but Cassie tells him she trusts him so he should trust in his instincts too. Eve doesn 't want to let Sam do anything because she is scared but Cassie tells her that she trusts Sam convincing her to do it too... This makes Sam and Cassie bond even more and really start to be close to each other, sharing a sweet moment when they hold hands. Right after that the ambulance arrives and takes them to the hospital.

In the hospital after Sam opearates of Bryan he and Cassie share another sweet moment... This situation has brought them close together making them see what a great team they are and they look at each other eyes smiling.

When they walk back to Grey House Cassie tells Sam how good he is under pressure and he tells her that he loves that kind of work but he had to give it up to give Nick a better life and spend more time with him.

- Cassie: As usual Cassie senses that a big storm is coming to Middleton but no one believes her since the news has said that the storm will miss Middleton and the sky is blue. She gives some tips about how to melt the snow that is harmless to humans and plants (as she always cares for the environment and reminds us to do it too). Something tells her that something isn't good with Eve and Bryan and at the end she is right. LESSON: this shows us to not listen to people and follow our intuition no matter what. - Sam and Stephanie: Stephanie tells Sam she has some free time but Sam tells her he can´t... They are both starting to realize that they aren't meant to be and this comes even clearer when Stephanie finds out what a great team Cassie and Sam made in the emergency situation of Bryan. LESSON: even if you want to, some people aren't meant to be while others are, the brave thing is to admit it and move on. - Martha: she is very excited for the storm because last time it was one the Blairsville mayor ended up on the news on TV. When the storm hits Middleton Martha freaks out a little and Derek has to help her organize everything. Later she tells her husband Tom that she is scared of not being able to handle it but he reminds her that he believes in her and that she should too because she is doing a great job. When the storm really hits Middleton she needs to ask for help from the mayor of Blairsville and he ends up in the news again. She is sad but Cassie reminds her she did something very important that appeared on tv... She kept people safe and really cared about the town. LESSON: at the end what people will remember and what they will care about is if you really take care and worry about them, because that´s what a real mayor should do: take care of the town and the people in it. - Cassie and Ryan: Ryan is working for a new boss that wants to build a mall in Blairsville and Ryan tells Cassie she can open another Bell Book and Candle there. Cassie tells him that she likes her small shop and gets to personally deal with her clients and help them saying that "bigger isn't always better is just bigger" LESSON: this makes us think about our decisions and to not always follow the bigger. - Sam, Nick and his mom: Nick´s mom lives in New York so he really doesn't see her much but when she tells him she is coming to visit he gets excited... Later she calls to say she can't visit and Nick gets sad. Nick goes to the library to study with Grace and her friend Anthony. Nick is being rude and in a bad mood the whole time and Grace doesn't understand why until Anthony asks Nick something and Grace discovers why he is in such a bad mood. LESSON: even when you are mad you don't have to blame others for what's happening to you because they don't have the fault. Is important to take the time to be with the ones you love. - Stephanie and Abigail: Abigail is now working at The Bistro with Stephanie because she says she is needed there but no one really understands it since they don´t get along very well. Abigail keeps trying to change things at the Bistro and it's driving Stephanie crazy. But when the storm hits and Stephanie falls in The Bistro door, Abigail is there to take care of her until she can go to the Hospital. She takes care of Brandon too who starts walking away from his car accident and ends up in The Bistro. At the end Abigail takes both to the hospital and they both get well. Stephanie and her start to get along better since Stephanie is thankful to Abigail for taking care of her when she needed it the most. LESSON: even if Abigail and Stephanie don´t start not getting along Abigail was there when Stephanie needed her the most and that's what real friendship is about. Abigail also helps Brandon get better. - Grace and Brandon: Grace feels things as same as her mother and she feels something horrible will happen to her brother so when the school gives her an assignment to do a paper about the job of one of the parents she chooses Brandon to spend the day with him and try to avoid whatever is gonna happen. Brandon sees something is happening but Grace doesn't want to tell him... The next day she goes to the library and Brandon to work when he suffers a car accident because of the snow... When they can finally get back to normal because of the storm she goes directly to the station worried... Brandon tells her that "there is risk in life" and that whether she likes it or not she has to let him and everybody live their life and not worry so much. LESSON: this shows that there is risk in everything we do in life but we can't worry about everything because that won't let us live. - Grey House Guests: a lovely couple who is expecting their first child Eve and Bryan. They are both very happy but Bryan is also worried since he didn't have a good example because of his father abandoning him when he was young. Bryan is having some stomach pains but he doesn't pay attention to it and doesn't like doctors... but Cassie feels something more is going on and that his body is trying to tell him something important. The couple has been travelling but Bryan complains that things are too far away... Cassie reminds him that "sometimes the journey is the destination" Eve on the other hand is very happy, loves the town and tells Cassie that Grey House feels like home. They go away but come back at night because Eve starts to feel bad and she gets scared but Sam´s checks her and tells her all is good... but they decide to Stay at Grey House for some more days. Cassie feels something is off and tells Sam they should go to the hospital but Sam says it is all good. A while later Bryan starts to feel bad and no one knows why... Sam tries to operate on him but his wife says no, when he gets worse she says yes but right at that moment an ambulance arrives and takes them to the hospital. Sam discovers that he has a rare condition that makes his spleen to bleed and operates on him. Thankfully he recovered well. LESSON: Eve and Bryan's storyline shows how sometimes things are meant to be since if they had gone away Bryan probably would have gotten worse. It also shows us that you don't have to be marked by the past... that Bryan's father wasn´t a good example doesn´t mean Bryan won´t be a good father! Sometimes you are better by just caring more and trying! At the end everyone works with everyone taking care of one another and being there for the ones in need. This is the perfect example of a great community and what can happen when we all come together in the times of need. As you can see, all are examples of real life situations.
